Dr. Everett was invited by Dr. Antonino Zichichi, Science Advisor to Pope John Paul II, to sit at the Pope John Paul II head table during the evening formal dinners in the San Francesco Monastery, Erice, Sicily, Italy.

Dr. Lorne G. Everett chaired the Pollution Permanent Monitoring Panel Working Group meetings held on August 19-24, 2017 at the World Federation of Scientists International Seminars on Planetary Emergencies 50th Session. The meetings were held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Italy-The Project For Mankind at the Dr. Richard Feynman Lecture Hall in the City of Erice, Sicily, Italy. Members from around the world including Russia, France, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, Serbia, Moldovia and the United States participated.

Dr. Lorne Everett at the 50th Anniversary of the World Federation of Scientists Seminars on Planetary Emergencies held August 19-24, 2017 in the Dr. Paul Dirac Lecture Hall in the San Domenico Monastery in the City of Erice, Sicily, Italy.

Dr. Everett co-chaired the Water Crisis Session held in the Dr. Paul Dirac Lecture Hall in the San Domenico Monastery in Erice on August 21, 2017. The Session was co-chaired by Dr. Antonino Zichichi, President of the World Federation of Scientists, the World Laboratory and member of the Pontifical Academy of Science. The Session was part of the Project For Mankind and was entitled “World Water Crisis Centre Proposal: To Influence and Reduce Water Crisis Around the World.” Dr. Everett and Dr. James Famiglietti, NASA/JPL, are the World Water Crisis Project Coordinators. Invited speakers included Dr. Alice Aureli, Chief of Groundwater Systems, UNESCO Paris, France; Dr. Abhijit Mukherjee, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Kharagpur, West Bengal, India who was recommended by NASA to speak on the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites application in India; Dr. Simon Langan, Water/WAT Director, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Ladenburg, Austria; and Dr. Charles McCombie, President of Arius, Gipf-Oberfrick, Switzerland.
